Press Release – Coons Charged with Two Felony DWI Counts
On Friday February 26, 2010 at 7:44pm Deputy Sheriff Brian Wilber was on patrol and located a 2004 Nissan Pathfinder off the roadway on Kidd Lane just in from Rte 9G in the Town of Red Hook. The operator Matthew J. Coons (30 years of age, of Red Hook) had slid off the roadway and became stuck.
Subsequent investigation by Deputy Wilber revealed that Matthew Coons was intoxicated. He was arrested and charged with Felony Aggravated DWI (for having a BAC of .18% or more) & Felony Driving While Intoxicated as well as an unspecified traffic violation. Both DWI charges were felonies since Matthew Coons had a prior conviction within the past ten years for Driving with a BAC of .08% or more, which was on March 23, 2006.
Matthew J. Coons was released to appear in the Town of Red Hook Court on March 25, 2010 at 6:00pm.
