12:00 a.m. Towns of Wappinger and Fishkill advise that they have declared a State of Emergency due to storm related activity.

Shift handled numerous storm-related complaints including PDAA’s; alarms; and trees & wires down complaints.

7:00 A.M. States of Emergency have been declared in the City of Beacon as well as the Towns of Wappinger, Fishkill, and East Fishkill due to a significant accumulation of heavy & wet snow. Many roads are impassable with significant power outages and roof collapses being reported. Dutchess County Emergency Operations Center opened with DCSO Sergeants assigned.

8:00 a.m. This agency received a call from the State Police requesting assistance from the ATV Unit on I-84 in Fishkill. SP report that they have a couple hundred motorists stuck on I-84 starting in Fishkill and going east, and requested that the ATV’s assist them with checking on people that they can’t get to. DCSO ATV unit assigned to assist.

11:33 a.m. Deputies along with a K-9 team responded to the Jewelry Annex on Route 9 in the Town of Wappinger for a burglary. Inv. revealed that the front door had been smashed in and jewelry taken. Investigation to continue.

1:27 p.m. Deputies investigated a missing 13-year-old male from the village of Pawling. The child was located a short time later, and reunited with his mother.

4:37 p.m. Deputies responded to Gleason Blvd in the town of Pleasant Valley for a domestic disturbance. No charges were filed.

5:00 p.m. John Jay High School opened as a relief center for subjects affected by the storm, with DCSO patrols requested to periodically conduct property checks of the site. 6:09 p.m. Deputies responded to Netherwood Road in the town of Pleasant Valley for a one car personal injury auto accident. The injuries were not serious.

6:21 p.m. Deputies and LaGrange Fire Dept responded to Martin Drive in the town of LaGrange for subjects with carbon monoxide poisoning, from a propane heater being used in the residence. A young female who was feeling the effects of the poisoning and her mother who was unconscious were taken to the hospital.  One pet (bird) died and the other pets were rescued and given to a neighbor for safekeeping.

6:52 p.m. Deputies responded to Moore Road in the town of Red Hook for a domestic disturbance. No charges were filed.

7:37 p.m. Deputies responded to Corrao Way in the town of Stanford to assist the fire dept with a structure fire.

7:44 p.m. Deputies located a car off the road on Kidd Lane in the town of Red Hook and subsequently arrested Matthew J. Coons, age 30, of Red Hook for felony aggravated driving while intoxicated. Please see the release.

10:14 p.m. Deputies responded to Rte 55 & Rte 82 the “On the Go” gas station for a truck on fire near the gas pumps.

10:31 p.m. Deputies arrested Andriy Stephanchuk, age 37, of Wappinger for driving while intoxicated stemming from a traffic stop on Rte 376 in the town of Wappinger.
