Police Blotter, April 21, 2010

3:29 p.m. Deputies responded to Route 199 and River Road in the town of Rhinebeck for a personal injury auto accident. The injuries were not serious.

4:39 p.m. Deputies responded to Charles Colman Boulevard for a reported juvenile preparing to jump off the roof.  This was a good intent call and case was unfounded.

4:57 p.m. Deputies responded to Route 55 in the town of LaGrange for a burglary.

8:31 p.m. Deputies responded to North Quaker Hill Road & Berry Lane in the town of Pawling for a personal injury auto accident. The injuries were not serious.

8:33 p.m. Deputies responded to Titusville Plaza in the Town of LaGrange for a temporary order of protection violation. Investigation continuing with an arrest pending.

9:17 p.m. Deputies had a vehicle fail to comply on Rte 9 southbound in the T/Poughkeepsie at normal speeds with compliance to traffic signals along the way.  Operator Nongluk Thomasanthia of Thailand was issued several traffic tickets and advised of the proper action to take when an emergency vehicle is behind your vehicle trying to stop you, especially for several miles.

9:51 p.m. Deputies responded to Village Crest Apts in the town of Wappinger for a domestic disturbance. No arrests were made.

Police Blotter, April 20, 2010

4:36 p.m. Deputies responded to Walgreens parking lot on Route 55 in the town of LaGrange for a suspicious vehicle/person.  Subsequently they arrested Robert Oswald 3rd for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree and a violation of the Public Health Law.

6:57 p.m. Deputies responded to Village Crest Apartments, in the town of Wappinger for a domestic disturbance. No charges were filed.

7:03 p.m. Deputies report the arrest of James Griffin of Red Hook for forcibly touching and trespass from an previous incident at Bard College.

7:31 p.m. Deputies responded to Old Davis Hill Rd in the town of Beekman for a domestic disturbance. No charges were filed.

8:50 p.m. Deputies stopped a vehicle from a 911 alert on Route 55 in the town of Poughkeepsie.  The operator, Robert Oswald 3rd who had been arrested earlier and released, was arrested this time for DWAI Drugs.

9:56 p.m. Deputies responded to Beaver Road in the town of Beekman for a domestic disturbance. No charges were filed.

Sheriff’s Office Releases Name of Pilot in Fatal Crash

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office released the name of the pilot who was killed in a plane crash in LaGrange yesterday. He was Antonio DeJesus Espinal of Yonkers.

The plane was a 1960 Beechcraft B95 “Travelaire” and was owned by Mr. Espinal. No further information was released at this time.

Fatal Plane Crash in LaGrange

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fatal plane crash that occurred on Skidmore Road in the Town of LaGrange this date at approximately 11:55 a.m.

The pilot was the sole occupant of the aircraft. His name is not being released at this time. The investigation is continuing, and further details will be provided at a later date.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Dutchess County Medical Examiner NYS Police, and by LaGrange, Pleasant Valley, and Union Vale Fire Departments. The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board were advised, and will be involved in the investigation.

Police Blotter, March 7, 2010

12:56 a.m. Deputies responded to a Bar on Broadway in the village of Tivoli for a fight. Subjects left before police arrival and Deputy Haire completed an alcohol beverage control referral.

1:20 a.m. Deputies arrested Jose Melchor, age 32, of Dover Plains for driving while intoxicated subsequent to a traffic stop on Pleasant Ridge Road in the town of Dover.  Subject processed and released on traffic tickets.

4:48 a.m. Deputies responded to the City of Poughkeepsie to assist with a robbery on Main Street. Deputies made the initial contact with the victim and a short time later, another Deputy made a traffic stop of the suspect vehicle on Winnikee Avenue. The subjects in the vehicle fled on foot and the Deputy pursued one, taking him into custody in the Fallkill Creek. Matter turned over to the City of Poughkeepsie police Department.

Police Blotter, March 6, 2010

12:13 a.m. Deputies, along with units from several other agencies, to assist the City of Beacon Police with a large fight at the Beacon High School. Further information reported that several subjects may be in possession of firearms and that at least one person had been stabbed. Members assisted Beacon Police dispersing the crowd and remained in the area while they conducted their investigation.

12:44 a.m. Deputies arrested Francis Cush, III, age 27, of Monroe, NY, for driving while intoxicated subsequent to a traffic stop on Route 44 in the Town of Poughkeepsie.  Subject was processed and released on traffic tickets.

1:51 a.m. Deputies assisted the Tivoli Fire Department with a reported structure fire at an abandoned barn on the Tivoli Bays property. Investigation revealed that unknown subjects had started a fire on the concrete floor of the barn and that it had all burn extinguished itself prior to fire department arrival.

2:48 a.m. Deputies arrested Michael Ferrara, age 20, of Malborough for driving while intoxicated subsequent to a traffic stop in Route 9 in the Town of Hyde Park. Subject was processed & released on traffic tickets.

3:49 a.m. Deputies arrested Rachel Lane, age 29, of Brooklyn for driving while intoxicated subsequent to a traffic stop on Broadway in the Village of Tivoli. Subject was processed and released on traffic tickets.

3:51 a.m. Deputies arrested William Tuggle, Jr., age 23, of Hyde Park for driving while intoxicated subsequent to a traffic stop on Marist Drive in the Town of Poughkeepsie.  Subject was processed and released on traffic tickets.

4:34 a.m. Deputies arrested Andrew Towne, age 22, of Queensbury for driving while intoxicated subsequent to a traffic stop on Main Street in the Town of Poughkeepsie. Subject was processed and released on traffic tickets.

8:16 a.m. Deputies responded to Pumpkin Lane in the town of Clinton for a residential burglary. Investigation revealed that the residence had been entered through the front door, after which the suspect(s) ransacked the house and stole property. The investigation is continuing.

9:09 a.m. Deputies responded to South Avenue in the town of Pleasant Valley for a report of a female subject running other vehicles off of the roadway and causing accidents. Kayla Wisseman, age 27, was driving erratically and caused 2 accidents with no injuries. Subject was given field sobriety tests and subsequently arrested by Deputy Harris for DWAI-drugs.

9:31 a.m. Deputies arrested Barbara Turtel, age 40, at Memorial Ave in the Village of Pawling for Stalking 4th Degree stemming from an ongoing investigation. Subject was processed and then released on her own recognizance after being arraigned.

11:56 a.m. Deputies responded to a deli on Route 55 in Beekman to assist EMS with an intoxicated subject passed out in a vehicle (passenger). Subject was transported to St. Francis Hospital without incident, no charges filed.

12:04 pm Deputies were assigned to assist the Village of Wappingers Falls Police Department with traffic at the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Deputies were also assigned to assist with crowd control and disturbances after the parade. Some minor problems handled with no major incidents at the time of this writing.

Police Blotter, March 5, 2010

12:34 a.m. Deputies responded to the Village Crest Apartments in the town of Wappinger for a domestic disturbance. No offenses committed.

2:49 a.m. Deputies investigated a fight at a bar in the village of Tivoli.

4:33 p.m. Deputies arrested Kevin M. Diedrich, age 30, on a Dutchess County Department of Probation warrant after he surrendered himself at headquarters. Subject remanded to the Dutchess County Jail.

4:44 p.m. Deputies responded to South Green Haven Road in the town of Beekman for a personal injury auto accident. The injuries were not serious.

4:57 p.m. Deputies arrested Christopher Mikelinich Sr., age 44, at Cedar Knolls in the town of Pine Plains on a Columbia County Family Court warrant. Subject was turned over to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.

7:18 p.m. Deputies arrested Victor C. Eimicke, age 22, of Dover for open container & prohibited sale of alcohol on Rte 44 in the town of Pleasant Valley.

8:47 p.m. Deputies Ritch & Lt LaMonica responded to 9 Beaver Rd in the T/LaGrange for a Domestic.

10:14 p.m. Deputies responded to Bundy Hill Rd in the town of Pawling for a one car personal injury auto accident. Subject fled scene and may be intoxicated. Investigation is ongoing at this time.

10:37 p.m. Deputies arrested Lia Murphy, age 20, and Melissa Palet, age 20, of Bard College for alcohol beverage control violations on West Market St in the T/Red Hook.

Perez-Reyes Felony DWI Arrest

On March 3, 2010 at 11:04pm Dutchess County STOP-DWI Deputy Sheriff Neil Stuart stopped a 2000 Ford Explorer operated by Roberto Perez-Reyes (35 yoa) of the City of Poughkeepsie on Rte 55 eastbound in the Town of LaGrange for failing to keep right and impeding traffic.

An investigation by Deputy Stuart revealed that Perez-Reyes was intoxicated. He was subsequently charged with Felony Aggravated DWI (for having a BAC of .18% or more), Felony DWI & Felony Aggravated Unlicensed operation of a Motor Vehicle.  The DWI charges were felonies since Perez-Reyes had a prior conviction for Driving with BAC of .08% or more on August 21, 2007.  He also had a license revocation for the same conviction and due to the fact he was revoked for a DWI related offense and also intoxicated he was charged with the felony AUO charge.

Roberto Perez-Reyes was released and is scheduled to appear in the Town of LaGrange Court on March 30, 2010 @ 4:00pm.

11:04 p.m. Deputies arrested Roberto Perez-Reyes, age 35, of LaGrange for felony driving while intoxicated subsequent to a traffic stop on Route 55 in the Town of LaGrange. Subject was processed and released on traffic tickets.

1:08 a.m. Deputies arrested William Dicke, age 30, of the Culinary Institute for felony driving while intoxicated subsequent to a hit & run collision at the Crossway Bar on East Market Street in the Town of Hyde Park.

2:30 a.m. Deputy LaMonica arrested Raymond Gori, age 45, of Hyde Park for assault 2nd stemming from a domestic disturbance.

Police Blotter, March 3, 2010

1:50 a.m. Deputies arrested Thomas J Pray, age 35, who was turned over by Kingston Police, on an active Dutchess County Family Court Commitment Order. Subject remanded to DCJ.

10:58 a.m. Deputies responded to the Quiet Cove County Park in the town of Poughkeepsie for a report of a decomposed body found along the rail bed. It was determined that the body was within the railroad right of way, at which time the scene was turned over to the MTA police.

4:44 p.m. Deputies arrested Martin P. Timperio, age 43, on a bench warrant from the village of Tivoli for harassment after he surrendered himself at the DCSO Route 308 substation.

5:03 p.m. Deputies arrested Lauren N. Camacho, age 19, of Colorado for unlawful possession of marihuana on Albany Post Road in the town of Hyde Park.

5:15 p.m. Deputies report the arrest of John J. Bradley, age 44, of Pine Plains for unlawful possession of marihuana on Hunns Lake Road in the town of Stanford.
